Our History

Tizzerts, Inc. opened for business in July, 1995 near downtown Charlotte, NC. Tiz Faison Benson is the founder and sole owner, hence the name of the business. The bakery is actually called “A Custom Cakery,” because the menu includes fresh, made to-order layer cakes, brownies, and bundt cakes.

With the help of Anita Stack, the Cake Designer and Manager, Tizzerts, Inc. has established a reputation for products, which are the most beautiful, best tasting and most consistent in quality in Charlotte over the last 8 years. The “cakery” manufactures products for wholesale customers as well as retail consumers, including elegant and scrumptious wedding cakes.

Our local wholesale customers include Reid’s Fine Foods, Caribou Coffee, Dean & DeLuca, Harris Teeter, and La Tea Da’s. Tizzerts, Inc. is also building a name outside of Charlotte. We have done some great cakes over the last 8 1/2years for customers including Dave Thomas (the now-deceased owner of Wendy’s), Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Kal Kardous (Copy Data), Hugh McColl, Debbie Faubion (WSOC), Mike Collins (WFAE), Barbara McKay, Allen Tate, Jr. and many, many more. All of our customers receive a fabulous cake, which we are completely proud-of!

Our motto is “A Cake Isn’t Just a Cake. A Brownie isn’t Just a Brownie.” Just try one and you will know!
