How long in advance do I
need to order a decorated layer cake or other items from
Tizzerts?
We usually need 2-3 business days to bake, fill and ice
the cakes. However, we can often put something together
for you within 24 hours, depending on what flavor cake
you need! You can easily order from Tizzerts by
clicking the Design-A-Cake tool on this site or emailing
directly to orders@tizzerts.com.
We carry some decorated cakes, brownies, bars, cupcakes
and pound cakes at our bakery located in Park Road
Shopping Center (inside Suarez Bakery). Also, we
have many local retailers who carry our cakes, brownies
and cupcakes.
How long in advance do I
need to make an appointment for a wedding cake tasting
and is there a fee?
We ask for at least 3-6 months notice in order to book a
wedding cake. Of course, there are many times of the
year which book up quickly, such as April – June and
Sept – Oct, so these dates need the most time. We also
ask that you have confirmed your date, venue, estimated
number of guests, and a cake budget before scheduling
your appointment by phone or email. There is a $20
booking fee to set up the appointment. This fee is
applied towards the balance when you confirm the wedding
cake order!
What sort of deposit do
you require to reserve a wedding cake date?
Once
you have come in for a yummy cake tasting and
estimating, we ask for a 50% deposit of the estimated
wedding cake total. The final cake balance is due 2
weeks before the event date.

We have over 30 retailers who carry our products

Does Tizzerts offer
delivery or ship desserts?
We have a delivery service which will carefully
transport our perishable and sometimes fragile desserts
to a local home, business, restaurant and other venues.
We ask for a 3 hour delivery window to ensure receipt of
the dessert(s). The delivery charges vary according to
quantity, day of the week, and destination. We do not
travel much farther than 20 miles outside of the
Charlotte area. Sadly, we do not ship our desserts at
this time. One day, we will!
How far in advance do
you bake the cakes, brownies, etc.?
We make all products to order. We bake, fill, ice and
decorate with a 2 day turnaround typically. We make the
brownies, bars, pound cakes and cupcakes daily.
Does Tizzerts make 3-D
cakes, cakes iced in fondant or “character” (Sponge Bob,
Dora, etc.)?
Tizzerts does not make these types of cakes, but offers a
large variety of cake sizes in round, rectangular and
square. We are known for our yummy Swiss Meringue
Buttercream, which is light, soft and delicious! We
also ice cakes with scrumptious Cream Cheese Frosting,
Chocolate Buttercream and Ganache with various flavor
combinations. We believe a cake should taste as good as
it looks and transport easily, as well!
What’s the oddest
request you have ever had in the 16 years of business?
We
could write a book on the unusual requests we have had!
One of our most interesting projects was a HUGE and
extraordinarily floral cake in a rectangular series,
which framed an enormous flower arrangement for a bridal
show. It was so big that we couldn’t get it out of the
bakery’s double doors. It was for a dear friend, Jo
Ingersol, a Charlotte florist and beloved local
personality!
